Do I need to sign an agreement to work with a buyer’s agent?

Yes. As of 2025, all homebuyers must sign a Buyer Representation Agreement before we can schedule private showings. This agreement protects you by clearly defining the relationship, responsibilities, and how your agent gets paid. We’ll walk you through it and answer any questions before moving forward.

How do you get paid as a buyer’s agent?

In many cases, the seller still offers compensation through the MLS. If not, we’ll explain your options up front—including whether a buyer-paid commission is required and how that can be negotiated. No surprises—we’ll make sure you're comfortable with the plan before you tour anything.

What’s the first step in the buying process?
