Do I need to sign an agreement to work with a buyer’s agent?

Yes. Illinois law requires a written brokerage agreement when a brokerage relationship is established, no later than before touring a property in person or virtually. The agreement explains the services provided, responsibilities, length of the relationship, and compensation. We’ll review it with you and answer questions before you sign.

How do you get paid as a buyer’s agent?

In many cases, the seller still offers compensation through the MLS. If not, we’ll explain your options up front—including whether a buyer-paid commission is required and how that can be negotiated. No surprises—we’ll make sure you're comfortable with the plan before you tour anything.
